Digital transformation in the housing market

The platform that Hoppinger and the SSH have jointly developed manages the entire housing process digitally. From a completely new website with integrated registration and a portal giving access to available housing, to a personal portal for tenants and, at the back, an extensive application showing the available housing opportunities. All of this is linked to the DMS, ERP system and an accounting package. The advantages:

The result

 The platform we built for the SSH brings all processes together in one system, including:

  • Completely new SharePoint website with renewed brand identity
  •  Registration and a portal giving access to available housing integrated in the website
  •  Introducing a virtual assistant to the students
  •  'My portal' for tenants, on desktop and mobile
  •  Notification system and message box in the 'my portal'
  •  Chatbot for quick answers to frequently asked questions

For the internal organisation, the system automates the entire process of registration, housing allocation, hosting, contract formation, online payment and communication. Apart from the income check, there is no manual action for the SSH anymore. The platform is linked to other systems in the back office (everything fully in the cloud via Microsoft Azure):

  • DMS (Sharepoint)
  • ERP (Wocas)
  • CRM (Business Central)
  • Accounting Package
  • Business Intelligence
     

We also made a link with the CED application for tenants to report repair requests. For example, students can submit their report via the My SSH portal without having to log in again. In addition, our sister company Hoppinger Business Solutions has optimised communication between service employees and tenants by adding a bulk mail extension to Business Central. We record all interactions and follow-up actions via Business Central, SharePoint and Teams. One year after launching the new SSH platform, it becomes clear that we have created a win-win situation: a higher satisfaction under students, better matching and an even more effective back office process. The numbers reflect this:

The SSH, therefore, intends to open up the housing distribution platform to other (student) housing associations.
